Jacki Altmeyer
This is my seventh year at PHS, but I began teaching in 1997 at AL Brown High School in Kannapolis after graduating from Fairmont State University in West Virginia. I am certified to teach K-12 Theatre Arts, 5-12 Speech and Debate, and 5-12 English. I spent six years working at Countryside Montessori High School and studied the Montessori educational theory during that time. At Providence I am directing the Fall Show, Clue, the NCTC one act, Dark Road and the ITS Festival one act, Push and Pull. As well I am the director of the International Thespian Honor Society here at PHS.

Nicholas Blackwood
Nicholas Blackwood is a music educator with 8 years of experience within CMS. Mr. Blackwood taught general music at Rama Road Elementary, and assisted band directors at middle and high schools through his time there. Most prominently, He was a percussion instructor and technology specialist at Providence High School for the “Pride of Providence” Marching Band. He also taught the providence after school Jazz Band for several years. Mr. Blackwood has over 10 years of professional performance experience ranging from performing with large Concert Bands and Orchestras to smaller venues like churches and museums. He sings with his wife at Providence United Methodist Church for their traditional service and also plays drum set and handles sound design for their contemporary services. Mr. Blackwood had the privilege to perform with his collegiate ensemble at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) in 2012.

Jill Simpson
I have a Bachelor's degree in Studio Arts and a Master's Degree in education from the University of Minnesota. I have been teaching art at all levels here at Providence for 13 years.

Ms. Alexandra Sims
Ms. Sims has been teaching since 2008 and this is her second year at PHS. Beginning her career in middle school chorus at Northwest School of the Arts, Ms. Sims began teaching high school ,choirs in 2012 in Union County. Ms. Sims earned both her Bachelors and Masters of Music in music education from UNC-G. She teaches 6 choral ensembles at Providence and will serve as the Music Director for the musical again this year. She loves her job and is excited to work with each and every singer in PHS chorus this year!

Mrs. Freddie Swisshelm
I am new to Providence this year but have been working as an art educator in °ÅÀÖ¶ÌÊÓƵfor nearly seven years now. Before becoming a teacher I received my BFA in Studio Art/Art History from UNC-Chapel Hill and my Graduate cert. in Art Education at UNC-Charlotte.
