Ms. Doris Chisholm, Assistant Principal
Ms. Chisholm has served 27 years as an educator. Prior to becoming the Assistant Principal at Thomasboro Academy K-8, Ms. Chisholm was a Federal Programs Specialist, Expanded Impact Teacher II, Dean of Students, Instructional Coach, Literacy Facilitator K-8, Teacher for grades K-3, as well as a mentor for beginning teachers. Ms. Chisholm is a product of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and attended Tuckaseegee Elementary, Hidden Valley Elementary, Northeast Junior High (Middle), Myers Park Senior High School, and graduated from East Mecklenburg Senior High School.
A graduate of Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC, she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education K-6. Additionally, Ms. Chisholm completed graduate studies at UNC-Charlotte with a Master's in Education Curriculum Instruction K-12 and Gardner-Webb University with a Master's in School Administration.
Ms. Chisholm is excited to be a part of the Thomasboro Academy Tiger Family. Ms. Chisholm has a love for children and what they can achieve when the school, family, and the community work together. Ms. Chisholm strives in pursuing excellence each and every day!

Mrs. Vea Rooks, Dean of Students
Vea Rooks graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She then received her Masters in Elementary Education from Clemson University. She began her teaching career at °ÅÀÖ¶ÌÊÓƵin 1991. Over the course of her career, she taught grades 2nd - 8th in South Carolina and North Carolina. She also taught Special Education at Clemson University. Ms. Rooks attended Wingate University and obtained her Administrative License in Education.
Ms. Rooks has been at Thomasboro Academy for 5 years as our Dean of Students. Ms. Rooks puts the students first every day and ensures they feel heard and safe. She is ready to see how this year unfolds as we strive for excellence in every way here at Thomasboro Academy.
