Dear Parents and Students,

I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new Principal of Crestdale Middle School. It is with enthusiasm and a deep commitment to education that I begin this journey alongside the faculty, staff, and most importantly, our students and families.

With 20 years in the field of education, my path has been shaped by diverse experiences that have prepared me for this role. I spent nine years as a high school English teacher at Northwest School of the Arts, one year as a facilitator at Hawthorne Academy of Health Sciences, and 10 years as an assistant principal at James Martin and Northridge Middle School. These roles have instilled in me a deep understanding of educational dynamics and the importance of fostering a supportive environment where every student can thrive.

On a personal note, my roots in this community run deep. My family and I have lived in the Matthews area for two decades, so I am committed to the success of Crestdale and the Matthews community. Outside of school, I like to sing and play guitar.  I am also a Volkswagen bus enthusiast. In addition, I enjoy mountain biking on one of the many local trails.

As your new principal, I am dedicated to several core goals that will guide our journey at Crestdale Middle School. First and foremost, I am committed to ensuring a safe and supportive environment where students feel engaged and parents feel welcomed. Together, we will strive for continuous improvement in all aspects of school life, aiming to enhance student engagement and elevate academic outcomes for each and every student.

I am eager to meet each of you and begin working collaboratively to build upon the strong foundation of Crestdale Middle School. Your partnership is invaluable as we embark on this journey of growth and achievement. Please feel free to reach out to me at dylan.marshall@cms.k12.nc.us with any questions, ideas, or concerns you may have.

Here's to a successful and inspiring school year ahead!

Sincerely,

Dylan Marshall
